The Sister Bay Historical Society and the Corner of the Past Museum rely completely on volunteers to exist and operate. We, like most non-profit organizations, are always in desperate need of volunteers. We have always had some hardy members who were willing to get involved and help whenever needed, but as people age and sometimes move away, this is a tourist and retirement community after all, we seem to have less and less volunteers each year. The work the Society does in preserving our areas history and memories of its residents and pioneers is important work and needs to continue in order to keep our history alive in the present. The Corner of the Past Museum is an important asset to our community in presenting that history to the public and providing a destination for tourists and researchers wanting to learn of the areas past. We do seriously need more people to become involved with the society and the operation of the museum to keep it open and operating.
If you enjoy volunteering and contributing your time and talents to a worthwhile cause please consider joining our volunteer program. We are a very informal organization and welcome all, whether you are a resident or visitor, history buff or not. We especially need volunteers to welcome visitors to the museum and the various buildings, having a previous knowledge of their histories is not necessary as we can teach you that. If you like people, if you like being useful, if you like education, if you like contributing to people’s enjoyment of this area, and especially if you like history and preserving the past, please join us and become a volunteer for the Sister Bay Historical Society and the Corner of he Past Museum.
