Monetary Gifts
Your monetary gifts are critical to the preservation efforts of the Sister Bay Historical Society. There are several ways to make a contribution:
- Click the link below and contribute by credit card
- Send a check to Sister Bay Historical Society, PO Box 34, Sister Bay, Wisconsin 54234
- Direct a contribution to the Sister Bay Historical Society from your Donor Advised Fund
- Have your IRA custodian send a Qualified Charitable Distribution to the Sister Bay Historical Society
- Contribute a gift of appreciated stock – call Laurie Zelnio at 309-235-7835 for details
If you wish to have your contribution directed to a particular project – the renovation of the Little Sister Barn, or the Waterfront Museum – you’ll have the opportunity to note that when you choose the credit card method, or you can add a memo to your other type of contribution.
Items To Donate
All of the buildings on our museum grounds, and most of our artifacts, have been donated by members of the local community. Preserving and displaying these important items is central to our mission.
As we have grown, however, it has become necessary to be somewhat more selective about the items that we can take in. Here are some of the criteria that we use to determine whether we can accept a donated item:
- Historical significance
- Whether it may duplicate an existing item in our collection
- Condition of the item
We appreciate all offers of donated items, but we cannot accept “dropped off” donations. To discuss whether a proposed donation may be accepted, please contact Michaela Kraft at 920-854-7680.
Legacy Giving
A charitable bequest is a simple but powerful way to demonstrate your support for the preservation of Sister Bay history. You can designate the Sister Bay Historical Society as one of the beneficiaries in your will, trust, retirement plan or life insurance policy. If circumstances change, you have the flexibility to modify that designation.
For more information about this important way to establish your legacy, please contact SBHS Board President John Lijewski at 920-421-4240. SBHS will work with you and your attorney or tax advisor to make this as simple as possible.
Volunteer
We have a great group of volunteers, but we always need more. Whether you can bring cookies to an event, do a little painting or repair work, or help with some of our administrative tasks, WE NEED YOU!
Even if it’s just for a few hours a month, you can feel good about helping contribute to an important cause, and you’ll likely make some new friends.
Please take a look at the list below and see what areas fit your interests. Please contact Linda Johnson at 920-421-4829, or email us at the link below.
