Each year, we host a series of special events that are designed to bring the community together to help celebrate and preserve our special heritage.

MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH
BRUNCHING FOR THE BARN
Sunday, May 10 at Thyme Restaurant
Indulge in a delightful brunch experience that not only honors the incredible mothers in our lives but also supports the historical society! After brunch at Thyme, join us in the Hoop House for coffee & dessert, music, and a silent auction. All proceeds from the silent auction benefit SBHS. Special tours of the Little Sister Barn will be offered to those attending. Advance registration required. Many thanks to Thyme Restaurant and Catering!

SISTER BAY STORIES PROGRAMS
Tuesday, June 16; Thursday, July 23; Wednesday, August 19; Tuesday, September 22 – all at 7 pm
Join us in the historic Koessl Barn for these interesting talks featuring the families, businesses, and other groups that have contributed to the development and unique character of Sister Bay.

STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL
Saturday, June 27 from 9 am to 3 pm
Celebrate the season with all things strawberry, including homemade strawberry shortcake and sundaes, and our exclusive Sister Bay-sil Berry Spritz at our 3rd annual Strawberry Festival! This year’s event features entertainment by Billy Dave Sherman (morning) and Wagon Roots (afternoon), plus vendors, children’s activities and more! MUSIC BY THE BARN
Saturday, July 18, afternoon and early evening
Bring your lawn chairs to the Corner of the Past, settle in by the Little Sister Barn, and enjoy a free performance of southern-inspired folk music from the Riddle Brothers of Minneapolis. Volunteers from the Sister Bay Historical Society (SBHS) will be on hand to offer food and drinks for sale, with proceeds helping SBHS as it transforms the Little Sister Barn into a Center for History, Education and Community. Depending on current construction work, brief tours of the inside of the Barn may be available.

FISH BOIL
Thursday, August 6
Join us for a traditional Door County fish boil by master boilers, Fuzzy & Gene Sunstrom!
In addition to freshly boiled whitefish, we’ll have coleslaw, potatoes & onions, and a delicious cherry dessert! Tickets must be purchased in advance. Thanks to Henriksen’s Fish House for their ongoing support!

MARINA FEST
Saturday, September 5 at the Sister Bay Waterfront
Wooden boat show featuring our classic “Shadow” Chris-Craft boat, refreshments and more.

HARVEST DINNER
Tuesday, September 29 at Thyme Restaurant
Join us for our 2nd annual Harvest Dinner at the Thyme Restaurant Hoop House. The evening includes a five-course dinner with wine pairings, as well as a silent auction featuring Door County art, local restaurant gift cards, and more. All proceeds from the silent auction benefit the work of the historical society. Advance registration required, seating is limited. Thank you to Thyme Restaurant and Catering and Twelve Eleven Wine Bar for making this event possible!

CHRISTKINDLMARKT
November 27 – 29, December 4 – 6, and December 11 – 13
Join us for our 6th annual Christkindlmarkt at the Corner of the Past! Once again our grounds will be filled with a selection of vendors and artisans selling goods in our 14 historic buildings, as well as additional Christmas huts and the giant heated tent. Indulge in delicious northern European fare on offer from a variety of vendors in our food barn and food trucks. Be sure to warm up with our own special recipe Glühwein in this year’s commemorative mug!
