In the early 1900s, tourism began to be a growing business in Sister Bay, and alongside the early hotels and resorts, a new form of tourist accommodation was created — the vacation cottage. Some of the older hotels added cottages, but a large part of the growth came from families running small cottage and motel operations. New SBHS Curator Michaela Kraft will unveil a new exhibit highlighting the history of this era of tourism, and she’ll be joined by descendants of some of the families who were involved.
