MACHINE SHED

January 25, 2017 by admin

Machine Shed

The long narrow machine shed was typically found on smaller farms. They vary in design according to the farmer’s needs. This shed, estimated to have been built in the 1950’s, housed smaller farm equipment such as plows, rakes, hay mower and a hay rake. It was a place for the farmer to repair his implements and thus he stored tools, spare parts, tires, grease and oil and any other necessary equipment on the dirt floor.

The machine shed was once part of the Edward J. Koessl, Sr. farm on Highway 57 just east of where Highway 42 meets with Highway 57 in Sister Bay.
