SBHS TRIVIA NIGHT RULES AND INFORMATION

The Sister Bay Historical Society will be hosting its annual TRIVIA NIGHT fundraiser event to fund archival storage and displays for Sister Bay area history, for today and future generations. 

Please bring cash for the bar to expedite the time spent away from gameplay. Please do not bring your own food or beverages.

Trivia, consisting of various topics, will include 6 rounds (categories) of 10 questions each, with a short break between rounds 3 and 4. The team as a whole answers the questions. Teams will have 30 seconds to answer each question, before proceeding to the next question. At the end of each round teams will have 3 minutes to revise or answer that round’s questions before submitting them to the judges. The judge’s decision on answers is final. 

Don’t know an answer, but still want to win? Teams will be able to purchase a strip of stick-on Mulligans (6) for an additional $10 prior to gameplay. One Mulligan can be placed per round on your blank answer and it will be counted as if you answered the question correctly.

There is another way to go home with a prize. A team can purchase a balloon centerpiece for $10, to play the Balloon Round Game. When you look at the answer/score sheet you will see that in each round one of the 10 questions is clearly designated as the “Balloon Round” question. That means if you are playing the Balloon Round Game, you must answer that question correctly. If you don’t you must pop your balloon immediately. You CAN NOT USE A MULLIGAN on the Balloon Round question if you are playing. The team with the last balloon standing wins half of the proceeds from the game. In case of a tie, the teams will split the prize.

Teams are encouraged to create a fun name for themselves. A team will consist of not more than 6 people and not less than 4 people, all 18 years or older. The cost will be $150 per team. There will be up to 21 teams at 21 different tables. As with any venue, some tables are more preferred than others. Early registration insures the best tables on a first come basis.

A cash reward of $300 will be given to the 1^st place team and $150 to the 2^nd place team. Additional prizes include the “Balloon Round Game” which will consist of 50% of the total earned from the sales of balloon centerpieces. Door prize winners will be announced between round 3 and 4, during the short break in play. 

In case of a tie, a written tie-breaker trivia sheet with 10 questions will be handed out to each team at the beginning of play. You can work on this trivia sheet until the last round starts, at which time it is to be turned over to the judges. The winning score on this will, hopefully, break the tie. If not we will have a final tie-breaker trivia question for the final winner. If all else fails the two teams that tie will split the 1^st and 2^nd prizes 50/50.

All proceeds go to Sister Bay Historical Society to preserve Sister Bay area history for today and future generations. Much-needed archival and display items are needed to protect our textiles, documents, photographs, and more. We appreciate your participation in this important project.
